Can you tell us the story behind the founding of your business?
Parka was born from a strong desire to make a difference in people's lives. A family loss gave founder Amadee first-hand experience in picking up the pieces – on both a personal and business front. The loss of her brother, Nick was also the loss of her business partner at the time. This life experience inspired her passion for helping others prepare – before life throws that curveball.
There is such joy, in exploring those curly 'what if' questions. I can’t explain it, but people always feel so much better having thought it all through! The team at Parka, will build a plan that ensures you can cope financially, with whatever life brings.

What sets Parka apart, is our people! We care deeply – about people, outcomes, and doing better. We show up for each other, for our clients, and for our community. We’re bold, curious, and don’t stop at ‘good enough’.
How do you engage with and give back to the local community?
As a business, you’ll find us everywhere in the community! We love getting in behind local Schools & Sports clubs like Western Suburbs Football & Pare-Plimm Rugby. This ensures our support reaches many families, with the sponsorship of uniforms & events. And one major reward has been seeing the growth of Women in Football over the last 10 years, it has been superb! Also dear to our hearts, are charities we support such as WELLfed who effect such positive change.
What do you consider your business’s biggest success to date?
Our biggest success to date – that’s easy! It is the claims that we have paid for our clients. These are life changing moments, as nobody ever expects to claim. This is the time that we really get to make a difference in our clients’ lives.
What we do is not transactional, we are on a life journey with our clients. And that is a privilege.
