2018 is an interesting year for local business given the number of infrastructure projects locally and regionally impacting Porirua. The bigger picture is exciting for the region and it is important to ensure that Porirua is well represented at this point to achieve full benefit.

In March we are hosting a breakfast in Tawa on the Petone to Grenada motorway link round combined with a Transmission Gully Update.

Discussions are ongoing with Council regarding existing and new challenges presented by the Kenepuru Link road – we hope to come back to you with more detail soon.

Locally, we are commencing work on the Long-Term Plan, with the first draft due out in March. Council will be consulting with business on several topics and the Chamber will host these events. I encourage you to attend and provide feedback. The Chamber’s success with the business rates last year was due to the many businesses that submitted feedback. It was the largest number of submissions ever presented by the business community.

At the end of February, we launch our breakfast series with Air NZ presenting on their plans for the Kapiti Airport. Reservations for this breakfast are now open so please click on the link to ensure your place at the end of February.

Our door is always open and if you have comments we are always keen to hear from you.

Have a great week.
