Many of you will be aware of the financial challenges faced recently by the Hutt Chamber. Their situation is not unique and there is much discussion amongst the Chamber network on viable structures moving forward. The Porirua Chamber is at a point where we must look at our structure going forward. As at today, from 1 July 2018 we are not financially viable to continue with the same staffing structure.
At the same time many businesses and stakeholders see the need for business support and representation in the city and, that a Chamber is required. The advantage is that without Council contracts we are better able to service our members. I believe we are slowly achieving this and I’m excited about how the Chamber service to members may evolve if we are financially viable.
As a membership organisation we would like to give members the opportunity to contribute ideas to the Chamber’s future. To keep things simple we are proposing two workshops times. Please RSVP to either event – your contribution is important.
