An important part of the Chamber’s work is understanding the needs of business, so we can provide relevant representation and support services. Is staffing a battle? We have access to skilled talent through the skilled newcomers programme as well as the Youth to Work Movement. Are you having challenges with your business? Would one-on-one business advice from a mentor assist? The Chamber has access to free business mentors who will carefully match to you and your business. Are you exporting or thinking about it?
Do you have concerns about roading with so much development in the city? Porirua City is in an exciting growth period and we are aware of challenges associated with development and how it will impact businesses. One example is the Kenepuru Business District where there are existing challenges with roading. In the next two years traffic flows and numbers will be further impacted with the Carrus Development and the Adventure Park which is forecasted to attract 80,000 visitors into the city per year. The Chamber has an important focus on the City’s infrastructure to ensure the best future outcomes for all business.
