Daffodil Day
Today the National Bank is the principal sponsor of the Cancer Society's main fundraising day, Daffodil Day, which is coming up on Friday 27th of August. Daffodil Day is always a fun day in National Bank branches and Porirua branch is no exception. On Daffodil Day, the branch will be holding the following events; Cake Stall from 9am, BBQ/sausage sizzle from 10.30am, Raffles for gift hampers Mystery envelopes for sale, "Guess the number of jelly beans in the jar" competition, School and Kindy colouring-in pictures will be on display Daffodil Day jewellery, stationery, flowers, windmills and teddy bears for sale.
All National Bank staff put a lot of effort into raising as much money as possible for Daffodil Day and all funds raised go to the Cancer Society. There has been a lot of support from local businesses providing prizes and other donations, and their names are on display in the branch also.

Festival of The Elements 2011
Planning is underway for the Festival of the Elements 2011. It will be held on Waitangi Day – Sunday 06 February, and, as in the past few years, will be based at Te Rauparaha Park, Te Rauparaha Arena and Pataka. The Porirua Arts Council would like to bring your organisation into its planning for this event – the biggest event of this kind that the city hosts. Accordingly, the opportunity exists for local organisations to work alongside the Porirua Community Arts Council, in a partnership relationship where we can achieve mutually beneficial results.
