Grow Wellington is the regional economic development agency charged with the delivery of the economic aspects of the Wellington Regional Strategy.
The Wellington Regional Strategy is a sustainable growth strategy that has been developed by greater Wellington's nine local authorities, in conjunction with central government and the region's businesses, education, research and voluntary sector interests. The aim is to make greater Wellington "internationally competitive".
We are funded by the Greater Wellington Regional Council in accordance with the Wellington Regional Strategy multi-party agreement which was signed by all the region's councils in late 2007.
We therefore work actively with the Kapiti Coast District Council, the Porirua City Council, Wellington City Council, Hutt City Council, Upper Hutt City Council, South Wairarapa Council, Carterton District Council and Masterton District Council.
